Description
Went out back the other day in the afternoon because the lighting was fantastic and the hummers were out. This is a male Calliope Hummingbird (Stetulla calliope).I cleaned up the noise but it is still a little noisy, sorry.
Canon PowerShot S3 IS
f/3.5
1/1000
ISO 200
Still more hummers to come, if you want to see them before I post here visit my dA account at poohblah.deviantart.com.
PS. Just for you, Rian, I did not link to Photobucket.

I would remove the noise on background...!

seems to be lacking a bit sharpness but im not sure
its lacking sharpness, or its just your camera quality
probly quality after cropping, seeing you used 1/1000 i doubt its not in focus
well done

Agree with blackshad about the sharpness and with jafus about the noise, though.

Blackshad: Shutter speed doesnt have anything to do with the photo being "in focus"

somebody voted +2 on this and did not comment... that really pisses me off... if you do not like it just SAY WHY NOT!!! or maybe you accidentally hit +2, just tell me what's up. i'm fine with it if you comment but don't vote.

ThruMyEyez: you are right, for some reason i have seen shutter speeds of 1/3200 but i don't know how i got it, because i can't even get the camera that fast in manual mode.

So you were probably totally unaware of the fact if you really managed to get it in your camera or not, right?
You were still damn lucky to end up with this one and for that I give you all credit!
A shorter shutter speed on a DSLR with the other settings right (aparture and ISO) plus focus of course would have nailed it flying without the wing motion blur.

I love that it resembles so much like a painting, so delicate... and to me, sharpness in this one isn't an issue, in fact lack of it might bring something extra in to it! We just seem to have this burning obsession with sharpness ha ha
